New Leaf Search has partnered with a leading UK-based financial services group in its search for a Business Development Manager, Direct Hard Assets. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading Asset Finance business focused on delivering funding solutions to trading businesses across the UK.

We are seeking an experienced business developer with a strong profile in the marketplace and a proven ability to originate and structure hard asset finance transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities across direct, broker and vendor channels while building long‑term client relationships and delivering sustainable portfolio growth. This role is particularly suited to candidates with strong experience financing transport, commercial vehicles, construction equipment, plant, machinery and other hard asset sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate high-quality Asset Finance opportunities across direct, broker and vendor channels
  • Develop new business relationships across the South of England territory
  • Structure and negotiate asset finance solutions for business customers
  • Undertake targeted prospecting and business development activity
  • Build and maintain relationships with key introducers, customers and prospects
  • Utilise expert product knowledge to maximise opportunity conversion
  • Prepare detailed finance proposals and credit submissions
  • Develop and maintain a strong external network to generate new business opportunities
  • Drive portfolio growth while maintaining strong credit quality and risk standards
Candidate Profile
  • Proven Asset Finance, Leasing or Commercial Finance sales experience
  • Strong business development and new business origination capability
  • Experience financing hard assets including transport, plant, machinery or commercial vehicles preferred
  • Excellent face‑to‑face sales and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow and credit assessment
  • Ability to structure transactions and prepare detailed credit submissions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building capability
  • Self‑motivated, commercially focused and target‑driven

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly Asset Finance and Leasing. You will also require relevant in‑country experience; without which, your application will not be considered.
