The cloud-based e-learning platform offers tailor-made solutions, from creating whole e-learning websites to author online courses as well as providing the right tools to sell them on a B2B/B2C function. Today, LearnWorlds has c.11.000 customers in more than 150 countries and our team is fully remote. However, we also offer the option of working from the office for those who want to mix things up. We have offices in Athens, Crete, and Limassol.

Role Purpose

LearnWorlds, a leading e-learning SaaS platform, is seeking a Senior WordPress CMS Developer and Administrator to take full ownership of our WordPress-based blog and marketing content platform. In this senior role, you will oversee the maintenance, development, and continuous optimization of a high-traffic WordPress site that is central to our content marketing strategy. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the platform is visually impeccable, technically sound, SEO-optimized, and integrated seamlessly with our key systems. You will also lead initiatives to improve performance and capabilities, including exploring a transition to a headless CMS architecture within the next 12-18 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end maintenance, development, and optimization of LearnWorlds\’ WordPress-based blog and marketing site, ensuring a robust, secure, and high-performance platform for a global audience
  • Develop and customize WordPress components from scratch, without relying on prebuilt themes, to meet design and content requirements
  • Optimize site performance for high-traffic usage through caching strategies, code efficiency, database tuning, and front-end improvements
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and where needed, extend or build custom plugins with a focus on long-term maintainability and site performance
  • Implement on-page and technical SEO best practices to ensure visibility, ranking, and organic traffic growth
  • Administer user roles and publishing workflows across WordPress, supporting internal content and design teams
  • Integrate WordPress with HubSpot CRM, ensuring seamless lead capture, form handling, event tracking, and marketing automation triggers
  • Connect WordPress with the LearnWorlds platform to support dynamic content delivery, product integration, or course-related content experiences
  • Build and maintain API connections between WordPress and other systems in our marketing and product ecosystem
  • Collaborate with software engineers and front-end developers (HTML/CSS/JS) and visual designers to ensure functional, responsive, and brand-aligned implementations
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to implement and manage A/B testing initiatives on the site to optimize conversion rates, user engagement, and content performance
  • Ensure the platform\’s stability and security through continuous monitoring, timely updates, backup strategies, and performance audits
  • Lead technical evaluation of CMS alternatives and own the roadmap for a potential transition to a headless architecture within the next 12-18 months

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and administering custom WordPress environments for high-traffic websites
  • Expert knowledge of WordPress core, theme/plugin development, and performance optimization
  • Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, including experience building custom blocks or components
  • Strong understanding of SEO (on-page, technical, schema, page speed) and implementation within WordPress
  • Proven experience integrating WordPress with third-party services and CRMs—especially HubSpot CRM and custom systems via RESTful APIs
  • Strong Git-based workflow and experience deploying to staging and production environments
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable collaborating across product, design, and marketing functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with headless CMS models
  • Exposure to LearnWorlds or other online course delivery platforms is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with marketing attribution, event tracking, and analytics implementation (GTM, GA4, HubSpot)
  • Experience working in high-growth SaaS companies or global B2B content teams
  • Participation in the WordPress development community is a plus
  • Experience with A/B testing, content personalization, and experimentation tooling
