Looking for a qualified solicitor to help lead a new SQE1 online course. We're building LearnSQE — a modern, video-based SQE1 prep course. The unusual part: we already have the audience. We run a suite of exam-prep apps with an existing SQE1 following, our own study platform, question bank and marketing. What we need is the legal expertise to lead the teaching.
If you're a solicitor who explains things well and fancies building something (alongside practice, on your own schedule), read on.
What you'd do:
- Create short, focused video lessons across the 13 SQE1 subjects (start with the core, then expanding with more over time)
- Write the accompanying lesson notes and worked examples
- Be our named Course Director — the expert candidates trust
- Potential to provide student support (Q&A + occasional live sessions) as the course grows
You are:
- A qualified solicitor (SQE route ideal, or you teach/tutor SQE), confident across the SQE1 syllabus
- A clear, watchable communicator who can present to camera with slides and make tricky law simple
- Reliable at delivering to a brief in your own time
The deal:
- Paid per video (£250 per accepted video) — real, upfront income for work delivered (negotiable)
- Opportunity for ongoing paid support arrangement once the course is live
- Named Course Director credit and a real hand in shaping a course from the ground up — on top of an audience that already exists
To apply:
Send your CV plus a link to a short 5–8 minute sample video teaching the three certainties in trusts, as if to an SQE1 candidate. Slides with a voiceover are perfectly fine — though more creative ways to teach it are even better. The sample is how we shortlist; it tells us more than any CV.
Tips for submitting the video: add this to your google drive and send the link. We won't use any sample videos on our platform, and you keep the IP in them. If you're taken on, the IP in any videos you then create will belong to LearnSQE.
