The core of this role is Language Grading—the ability to write authentic British English sentences that are strictly controlled for difficulty according to the learner's level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Level-Specific Authoring: Create vocabulary sentences that strictly adhere to the linguistic constraints of Levels 1 through 5 (Entry 1 to Level 2).
  • Functional Adult Contexts: Develop content focused on UK-specific life skills, professional communication, and everyday British interactions.
  • Template Discipline: Populate highly structured activity templates with 100% accuracy, including specific metadata for word classes and difficulty markers.
  • Linguistic Accuracy: Ensure all content reflects contemporary British usage, spelling, and social norms.

Education & Certified Experience

  • Required: Minimum Level 5 Teaching Qualification (CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL).
  • Preferred: Level 7 Qualification (DELTA/DipTESOL) or MA in Applied Linguistics.

Experience: 3-5+ years teaching Adult ESOL or Functional Skills English in a UK setting.

Technical Skill: Demonstrated ability to 'grade' language—writing simple sentences for beginners without sounding patronising or childish.
