This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive and organised candidate to join our friendly and vibrant finance team based in Brighton.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the purchase ledger for several Group companies, processing and paying supplier invoices on time and accurately.
- Process weekly payment runs in various currencies, working closely with Treasury to ensure availability of cash.
- Ensure that Group expenditure has been appropriately authorised.
- Check and process employee expense claims in a timely manner.
- Process and input the company credit card expenditure, gathering the appropriate financial information from cardholders.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Enter data into the Group project management system.
- Create and submit accurate journal entries for management system approval.
- Ensure all employee timesheets are completed on time and sending any reminders.
- Work closely with the Financial Accountant on company wide queries.
- Work closely with other team members to complete month end tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work on ad hoc tasks, as required.
Qualifications
- At least one year’s experience in a relevant finance position, including purchase ledger and multi-currency experience (essential).
- An excellent attention to detail, a thorough approach and great organisational skills.
- A polite and helpful attitude, working and communicating well with others (from junior and non-finance colleagues to Board members).
- A proactive and inquisitive nature with the ability to manage their own workload.
- Good IT skills, with working experience of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (NetSuite or similar ERP system would be advantageous).
- At least level 2 AAT or similar (CA qualified candidates will not be considered).
- GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Salary
Depending on experience + bonus + benefits (commensurate with £24,000.00‑£25,000.00).
Hybrid Working
This is a hybrid role, working at least 1 day per week in our office in Central Brighton and the remainder working from home, though the candidate can choose to work more days in the office if they wish.
