As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in steel fabrication to join our team.
The Role
The Project Manager will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of steel fabrication projects from the order stage through to final installation. You will act as the key point of contact for clients, internal teams, and site personnel, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Experience within the steel fabrication sector of the construction industry is essential. Knowledge of masonry support systems is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple steel fabrication projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical details
- Coordinate with design teams, fabrication workshops, and site teams
- Develop and manage project programmes and budgets
- Liaise with clients, main contractors, and subcontractors
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality standards
- Oversee procurement of materials and subcontract services
- Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within steel fabrication in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, structural steel, and installation
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Commercial awareness and cost control experience
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Project experience desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience or knowledge of masonry support systems
- SMSTS or equivalent qualification
