This will show that you're not just passionate about teaching, but also committed to making a real difference in their lives.

Showcase Your Lesson Planning Skills

Prepare to discuss how you would design engaging lessons for small groups or 1:1 tutoring. Think about how you can incorporate research-based approaches to assessment and feedback. Highlight Collaboration

Since the role involves working closely with colleagues, be ready to talk about your experience in collaborative environments. Share examples of how you've worked with other teachers or support staff to enhance student learning, especially in a SEND context. This will show that you value teamwork and are ready to contribute to the school’s positive culture.

Prepare Questions

Interviews are a two-way street, so come prepared with thoughtful questions about the SEND department and the school's approach to supporting students. Ask about the resources available, professional development opportunities, or how they measure success in their SEND Hub. This shows your genuine interest in the role and helps you assess if it's the right fit for you.
