Position Summary:

We are seeking a nurturing, energetic, and experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to join our childcare team. The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 1-2. This role requires strong communication, classroom management, and curriculum implementation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a daily curriculum that supports the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development of toddlers
  • Create a structured yet flexible classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
  • Foster strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
  • Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate developmental records and assessments
  • Ensure the classroom meets or exceeds licensing standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization
  • Maintain consistent communication with families, providing regular updates and support
  • Mentor and guide assistant teachers or floaters in the classroom
  • Collaborate with the center leadership and participate in training, staff meetings, and school events
  • Promote positive discipline strategies and model appropriate behaviors
  • Follow all center policies and state licensing regulations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a toddler classroom setting
  • State-required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Child Abuse Clearance, Background Check)
  • Strong knowledge of toddler development and age-appropriate practices
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Passion for early childhood education and a genuine love of working with young children

Work Schedule:

Full-time, Monday through Friday (Some flexibility required for staff meetings or special events)

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift to 40 lbs., sit on the floor, bend, stoop, and actively engage with children at their level.
