Position Summary:
We are seeking a nurturing, energetic, and experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to join our childcare team. The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 1-2. This role requires strong communication, classroom management, and curriculum implementation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a daily curriculum that supports the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development of toddlers
- Create a structured yet flexible classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Foster strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
- Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate developmental records and assessments
- Ensure the classroom meets or exceeds licensing standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization
- Maintain consistent communication with families, providing regular updates and support
- Mentor and guide assistant teachers or floaters in the classroom
- Collaborate with the center leadership and participate in training, staff meetings, and school events
- Promote positive discipline strategies and model appropriate behaviors
- Follow all center policies and state licensing regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a toddler classroom setting
- State-required certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Child Abuse Clearance, Background Check)
- Strong knowledge of toddler development and age-appropriate practices
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Passion for early childhood education and a genuine love of working with young children
Work Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday (Some flexibility required for staff meetings or special events)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift to 40 lbs., sit on the floor, bend, stoop, and actively engage with children at their level.
