Team Manager

Great support starts with great leadership. Could that be you?

At LDN London, we believe that people with learning disabilities should have the same opportunities as everyone else – to make choices, build relationships, be part of their communities and live the lives they want.

We’re looking for Team Managers who share that belief and can turn it into great support every day.

This isn’t a role where you’ll spend all your time behind a desk. We want managers who are visible, who know the people they support, who work alongside their teams and who take pride in the quality of support being delivered.

What you’ll be doing

As a Team Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day running of a service, making sure people receive safe, consistent and genuinely person-centred support.

You’ll:

  • Lead, support and develop a team of staff, creating a positive culture where everyone knows what good support looks like.
  • Spend time getting to know people, observing practice and working alongside staff.
  • Make sure people’s choices, rights, independence and aspirations are at the centre of everything we do.
  • Take ownership of quality, safeguarding and safe practice, addressing concerns and making improvements.
  • Ensure staff have the right skills, knowledge and confidence to support people well.
  • Build positive relationships with families, professionals and the wider community.
  • Manage staffing, resources and the day-to-day organisation of your service.

You’ll be supported by a Local Area Manager, who will provide regular management support, coaching and guidance, while giving you the opportunity to take real ownership of your service.

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in people who are passionate about great support and have the confidence and skills to lead others.

You’ll need experience in adult social care, ideally supporting people with learning disabilities or autism, together with experience of leading or supervising staff.

  • Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who:
  • Leads by example and isn’t afraid to get involved.
  • Understands what good person-centred support looks like in practice.
  • Can motivate, develop and challenge staff to achieve high standards.
  • Recognises when things aren’t right and takes action.
  • Is organised, approachable and able to make good decisions.
  • Believes that people with learning disabilities should have choice, control and opportunities to live full lives.

You don’t need to have all the answers, but you do need to be curious, willing to learn and committed to getting things right.

Why join LDN London?

We’re a London charity with a long history of supporting people with learning disabilities. Our work is rooted in local communities, and we’re proud of the relationships we build with the people we support and their families.

We’re strengthening our management structure to bring leadership closer to the people and services we support.

For Team Managers, that means more accessible management support, clearer accountability, opportunities to share good practice and the chance to make a real difference.

If you believe great support comes from knowing people, leading well and getting the everyday things right, we’d love to hear from you.

A friend mentioned LDN London to me. The website and job information talked about the
different things that I would gain instead of just what I would be doing. Despite it being quite tough at some points, I like being part of a team that helps individuals with their different needs. Overall I believe that LDN London is a great company to work with as they support you in any way possible.

LDN London is a great organisation to work for, that cares about, and supports its employees. Career development opportunities and training are available, and you’ll meet managers and support workers with varied skill sets and you’ll have the opportunity to learn from them. Most importantly LDN London team members make every day fulfilling for the people they support. I know my work is making a positive impact and helping each individual to grow, gain skills, and work towards their independence.

What brought me to LDN London was a career where I could help others. It turned out that I met many wonderful people. I have also had the opportunity to learn new things and develop interpersonal skills. LDN London offers a clear path for further development and promotion. This is why I want to continue along this path, and I am excited to see where this journey takes me.

LDN London is a good company as they always support staff via regular training and one to one supervision. One thing that impressed me the most about LDN is that they promote and support teamwork among staff members. Furthermore, staff remuneration in LDN is better than most care agencies in London and beyond. I have worked for other organisations, but none compared to LDN London, the staff are so friendly and professional.
