LDN London is an award-winning charity with over 60 years’ experience of supporting people with learning disabilities to stay healthy, be safe and live well. We have a fantastic opportunity for several experienced support workers to join our supported living service in Westminster, which is located near Maida Vale tube station. The service is a 3-bed supported living accommodation which supports people with complex needs including autism, mental health and obsessive behaviours.
We are looking for people with experience and a good understanding of how to support people with complex needs. Support workers need to work flexibly to provide support through the day and the night. The role will be working with people who need assistance with their daily lives. The people we support are independent but vulnerable and may reject support or tend to run off when out in the community. We are looking for people who are fit and understand complex needs and how to successfully manage challenging situations.
People want to be part of the community and to develop independence skills, so understanding the principles of doing with and not for is important. The post holder must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. As a self-starter, you will be able to use your own initiative, can problem solve and prioritise, with good planning and organisational skills. In addition, you will need a positive, resilient attitude, be able to work under pressure, and be flexible and adaptable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge!
What does Support Work involve?

We currently only have vacancies in services where manual handling is an intrinsic and regular part of the job.
