As a Military Training Instructor you will deliver outstanding teaching throughout the L2 qualification, designing engaging, well‑planned lessons that keep learners motivated.

Duties
  • Keep subject knowledge up‑to‑date to provide challenging lessons.
  • Attend annual training events such as Reserve Training Camps, Look at Life, Familiarisation and Acquaint Days, and Assessment Centres.
  • Use assessment to inform learners and improve their knowledge.
  • Monitor learning systematically during lessons and provide timely support.
  • Deliver demanding lessons that help learners realise their potential.
  • Ensure the curriculum addresses physical and emotional well‑being.
  • Provide resources that respect learners’ diversity and broaden their understanding of communities.
  • Identify and support learners falling behind to help all catch up.
  • Set challenging individual targets for all learners.
  • Support the development of Maths and English with all learners.
  • Track work experience via the FCA in England and facilitate opportunities with MPCT partner employers.
  • Collaborate with the Centre Manager on learner induction.
  • Keep the MIS up‑to‑date with learners’ details, attendance, performance, and qualifications.
  • Carry out progress reviews to support educational development.
  • Deliver physical training using the bib system and extend intensity appropriately.
  • Lead Military Training Days following the military skills portfolios scheme of work.
  • Listen to learners and parents to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Attend regular professional development training.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to learners, customers and colleagues.
  • Act in line with company values and expected behaviours.
  • Promote equal opportunities and recognise diversity throughout the company.
  • Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent, Health and Safety policies and remain vigilant to risks.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years working within a uniformed service (Army, Navy, Air Force) – essential.
  • Military or civilian Physical Training qualification – essential.
  • GCSE Maths and English – desirable but essential.
  • Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector – desirable.
  • Teaching qualification or experience of teaching/instructing – desirable.
  • Experience working with young people – desirable.
