Learning Curve Group is a growing company that has recently acquired MPCT, bringing military academies to a total of 34 across England and Wales. This allows us to offer unique training in vocational qualifications and employability skills, helping learners prepare for rewarding careers in the British Armed Forces.
As a military Training Instructor at Learning Curve Group, you will provide outstanding teaching and learning throughout the L2 qualification for our learners within the centre. Your lessons will be detailed, well planned and engaging, ensuring learners are well motivated and supported throughout their development.
Key Responsibilities- Keep up-to-date with subject knowledge to ensure lessons are challenging.
- Maintain current industrial knowledge by attending annual events such as Reserve Training Camps, Look at Life, Familiarisation and Acquaint Days, and Assessment Centres.
- Use assessment to inform learners on how to improve their knowledge.
- Check learning systematically during lessons and provide clear, directed, timely support to foster notable improvement.
- Prepare demanding lessons to help learners realise their potential.
- Deliver curriculum that includes both physical and emotional well-being.
- Provide resources that reflect and value the diversity of learners’ experiences.
- Identify learners falling behind, support and enable all to catch up.
- Set challenging individual targets for all learners.
- Support the development of Maths and English for all learners.
- Ensure all work experience is tracked via the FCA in England and that learners embrace opportunities with MPCT partner employers.
- Support the delivery of learner induction with the Centre Manager.
- Keep the MIS up to date with all learner details, tracking performance, attendance and progress.
- Carry out progress reviews to support learners’ educational development.
- Deliver physical training using the bib system during sessions, extending and challenging learners at appropriate intensity.
- Deliver Military Training Days that follow the military skills portfolios scheme of work in a cyclical manner.
- Listen to learners and parents to improve teaching and learning.
- Attend regular training on teaching and learning.
- Provide support, advice and guidance to learners, customers and colleagues.
- Conduct your role in line with company values and expected behaviours.
- Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity.
- Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety Policies and remain vigilant to potential concerns and risks.
- Experience of working within one of the uniformed services (army, navy, air force) – minimum 3 years.
- Military or civilian Physical Training qualification.
- GCSE Maths and English qualification.
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector.
- Teaching qualification or experience of teaching or instructing.
- Experience of working with young people.
- 36 hour week for all full-time employees; most finish by 15:30 on Fridays.
