The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Learning Curve Group are a growing company which has expanded through its acquisition of MPCT, bringing military academies to 34 across England and Wales. This enables us to offer training in vocational qualifications, employability skills, and preparing learners for employment with rewarding careers in the British Armed Forces.

Transforming lives is central to our work in Academies. As a Military Training Instructor at LCG, you will provide outstanding teaching and learning for learners on the L2 qualification within the centre. Your lessons will be well planned, engaging, and your learners will be motivated under your leadership.

You will need these important qualities:

  • Good administration and paperwork skills.
  • Appropriate classroom management skills.

Duties:

  • Keep up to date with subject knowledge to ensure lessons are challenging.
  • Maintain Industrial knowledge by attending events and familiarisation days annually (e.g., Reserve Training Camps/Events, Look at Life, Familiarisation and Acquaint Days, Assessment Centres).
  • Use assessment to inform learners on how to improve.
  • Ensure learning is checked for effective progress during lessons and provide timely, clear support to improve learning.
  • Prepare demanding lessons to help learners realise their potential.
  • Deliver curriculum that covers physical and emotional well-being.
  • Ensure resources reflect diversity of learners’ experiences and provide understanding of people and communities beyond their immediate context.
  • Identify learners who are falling behind and support them to catch up.
  • Set challenging individual targets for all learners.
  • Support the development of Maths/English with all learners.
  • Ensure work experience is tracked via the FCA in England to reflect opportunities with MPCT partner employers.
  • Support learner induction with the Centre Manager.
  • Keep the MIS up to date with learner details and tracking of qualification performance, attendance, and progression.
  • Carry out progress reviews to support learners’ educational development.
  • Deliver physical training using the bib system during sessions to challenge learners at appropriate intensity.
  • Deliver Military Training Days following the military skills portfolios in a cyclical manner.
  • Listen to learners and parents to improve teaching and learning.
  • Attend regular training on teaching and learning provided.
  • Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice and guidance as part of your everyday role.
  • Conduct your role in line with company values and expected behaviours.

Essential and Desirable Criteria:

  • Essential: Experience of working within one of the uniformed services (e.g., army, navy, air force) with a minimum of 3 years.
  • Desirable: Military or civilian Physical Training qualification.
