We seek an experienced Learning Support Advisor/Mentor to support learners with additional learning needs at our Leeds Military Academy. Knowledge and experience in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) are essential. Role Details: As a Learning Support Advisor at our Leeds Military Academy, you will assist learners with SEND needs. This part-time, fixed-term role requires a strong background in supporting young people with SEND.
- Provide structured support using interventions aligned with EHCP plans in classroom and outdoor settings.
- Assist access to learning by providing modified materials such as worksheets, visual prompts, and games.
- Offer positive reinforcement, praise, and emotional support.
- Advise tutors on necessary adjustments for learners with support needs.
- Maintain and update Learning Support Plans and contact logs.
- Work collaboratively to promote well-being and personal development.
- Set learning support aims and interventions with learners, documented in their plans.
- Provide feedback to SENCO and external agencies on learner progress and difficulties.
- Contribute to annual reviews through reports and meetings.
- Build links with external agencies and carers.
- Support inclusion in group activities and facilitate interaction.
- Attend relevant training and meetings to stay updated.
- Carry out tasks under the direction of the SENCO, adhering to company values and behaviours.

Requirements include:
- At least 2 years of experience working with Post 16 learners.
- Experience with learners holding EHCPs.
- GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- Understanding of diverse social, cultural, and physical needs.
- Training in SEN areas such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, SEMH.
- Calm, patient demeanor.
