Learning Curve Group are a national training and education specialist working with further education providers, employers, and learners to help them achieve success. Our "Purple People" help us deliver success to achieve our vision to "transform lives through learning". This role sits within our Adult Skills provision, supporting adults in developing new skills, achieving recognised qualifications, and progressing into employment.

Learning Curve Group is seeking experienced and passionate Freelance Health and Social Care Tutors to join our Flexible Learning provision. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality, classroom-based training and support to learners undertaking a range of Health, Social Care, Mental Health, and SEND-related qualifications. The successful candidate will deliver one or more of the following programmes:

  • Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
  • Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills
  • Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health
  • Level 3 Certificate in Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care
  • Level 3 Certificate in Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes
  • Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism
  • Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Special Educational Needs
  • Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care

This role is site-based and requires tutors to deliver engaging face-to-face learning sessions that support learners in developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to achieve their qualifications and progress within the health and care sector. The successful candidate will have recent occupational experience within Health and Social Care, Mental Health, SEND, Counselling, or a related field, alongside a passion for supporting learners to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality face-to-face teaching sessions across the designated Health and Social Care qualifications.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive, and learner-centred environment that promotes participation and achievement.
  • Assess learner performance and provide relevant underpinning knowledge to ensure qualification requirements are met.
  • Provide timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to support learner progression and achievement.
  • Monitor learner progress and implement appropriate intervention strategies where required.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of learners with differing abilities, learning styles, and support requirements.
  • Ensure all teaching, learning, and assessment activities meet awarding organisation standards and internal quality requirements.

Learner Support and Progression

  • Provide regular support, feedback, and guidance to learners throughout their programme.
  • Encourage learner engagement, motivation, and commitment to learning.
  • Support learners in developing sector-specific knowledge, professional behaviours, and employability skills.
  • Assist learners in setting realistic personal and career development goals.
  • Provide progression advice and guidance relating to employment, further learning, and professional development opportunities within health and care settings.
  • Promote learner wellbeing and positive outcomes throughout their learning journey.

Quality and Compliance

  • Complete all learner documentation accurately and within required timescales.
  • Ensure assessment decisions are valid, reliable, fair, and fully compliant with awarding body requirements.
  • Address actions identified through internal moderation and quality assurance processes within agreed timescales.
  • Attend standardisation meetings and participate in quality improvement activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and progress tracking documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with funding regulations, awarding body requirements, and organisational policies.

Professional Practice

  • Maintain current industry knowledge and vocational competence within Health and Social Care and related sectors.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and share good practice with colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support learner achievement and organisational objectives.
  • Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and learner wellbeing in all aspects of delivery.
  • Adhere to company policies relating to Safeguarding, Prevent, Health & Safety, Data Protection, and Information Security.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Learning Curve Group at all times.

Essential Criteria

  • Level 3 teaching qualification as a minimum (or will be willing to work towards).
  • Level 3 Sector qualification minimum.
  • Level 3 Assessing Qualification (or will be willing to work towards).

Self-Employment Conditions

  • Associate tutors are self‑employed individuals and therefore responsible for making their own tax and NI contributions.
  • A UTR number will be required which you can apply for from HMRC.
  • Unfortunately, we are unable to work with Ltd companies; you need to work as a sole trader.

Recruitment Checks

  • The successful applicant will be required to provide satisfactory references and prove their eligibility to work in the UK.
  • For this role, we will also carry out adverse media checks and also need to carry out a DBS check and will ask information related to previous convictions if you are shortlisted for interview.
