Learning Curve Group is a growing company which is proven through our recent acquisition of MPCT bringing military academies to a total of 34 across England and Wales. This allows us to offer unique training in both vocational qualifications, employability skills, and most importantly helping learners prepare for employment with rewarding careers in the British Armed Forces.
Transforming lives is what we do best, and there is no better example of this than in our Academies. As a Military Training Instructor at LCG, you will be required to provide outstanding teaching and learning throughout the L2 qualification for our learners within centre. Your lessons will be detailed, well planned and engaging for learners, and the learners under your leadership will be well motivated.

DUTIES
- Keep up to date with subject knowledge to ensure lessons are challenging.
- Maintain Industrial knowledge by attending Reserve Training Camps/Events, Look at Life, Familiarisation and Acquaint Days, Assessment Centres annually.
- Use assessment to inform learners on how to improve their knowledge.
- Ensure learning is systematically checked for effective learning during lessons and provide clear directed and timely support that produces notable improvement.
- Prepare demanding lessons to ensure learners realise their potential.
- Deliver curriculum that addresses both physical and emotional well-being.
- Ensure resources reflect and value the diversity of Learners’ experience, providing a comprehensive understanding of people and communities beyond their immediate experience.
- Identify learners who are falling behind, support and enable all to catch up.
- Set challenging individual targets for all Learners.
- Support the development of Maths/English with all Learners.
- Track all work experience via the FCA in England to ensure Learners are embracing the opportunities the programme provides with MPCT partner employers.
- Support the delivery of Learner induction with the Centre Manager.
- Keep the MIS up to date with all Learners details and tracking of performance of qualifications, attendance & progressions.
- Carry out progress reviews to support Learners’ educational development.
- Deliver physical training using the bib system during all sessions, extending and challenging Learners at the appropriate intensity.
- Deliver Military Training Days that follow the military skills portfolios scheme of work in a cyclical manner.
- Listen to the views of Learners and parents to improve teaching and learning.
- Attend regular training on teaching and learning provided.
- Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice and guidance as part of your everyday role.
- Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours.
- Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity throughout the company.
- Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety Policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times.

Essential Criteria
- Experience of working within one of the uniformed services (e.g., army, navy, air force) – minimum of 3 years.
- Military or civilian Physical Training qualification.
Desirable
- GCSE Maths & English qualification would be desirable but essential.
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector.
- Teaching qualification or experience of teaching or instructing.
- Experience of working with young people.

All Employability courses differ in terms of the length of the course and the number of days which are required from the tutor each week for delivery. You will receive all courses information prior to accepting work.
- Support: From day 1 you will receive support from your Tutor Delivery Manager, starting with an in depth and thorough onboarding process and a chance to ask all your questions! You will have regular contact and updates with your manager over Microsoft Teams, or face to face if you’re passing the office.
- SHIFTS: We have recently invested into a live scheduling tool called SHIFTS for all our tutors in Employability. As a tutor you will receive instructions on how to sign into the APP. Once you have completed your profile, you will receive notifications when a job has been assigned to you and be able to look at all your upcoming courses you have agreed with your Tutor Manager to deliver. Organisation at its finest!
- Standardisation Meetings: You will use your own initiative to complete the services, however LCG can specify working standards which are monitored by observations and twice-yearly standardisation meetings. The standardisation meetings are also an excellent opportunity to learn and share best practice with other tutors across the nation.

Associate tutor status: Associate tutors are self-employed individuals and therefore responsible for making their own tax and NI contributions. A UTR number will be required which you can apply for from HMRC. Unfortunately we are unable to work with Ltd companies; you need to work as a sole trader.
