Learning Curve Group is a growing company that has recently acquired MPCT, bringing military academies to a total of 34 across England and Wales. This allows us to offer unique training in both vocational qualifications and employability skills, helping learners prepare for rewarding careers in the British Armed Forces.
As a Centre Manager at LCG, you support and lead your team to outstanding results. You will drive towards excellence in teaching and learning to ensure the centre’s sessions are interactive, engaging, and well planned. Learners are at the centre of everything we do, and we need to ensure that they are well motivated, inspired, and successful.

DUTIES
Leadership & Management
- Take the lead on all centre administration as per the Operational Excellence Framework (OEF) and manage the following returns: weekly checks, ICT, registers, bursary, programme, asset returns, TAM, staff recruitment, welfare, Facebook, MD memo, quality, FCA system.
Teaching & Learning
- Ensure you and your staff keep up to date with subject knowledge to maintain challenging lessons.
- Maintain industrial knowledge by attending annual events such as Reserve Training Camps/Events, Look at Life, Familiarisation with Acquaint Days, and Assessment Centres.
- Promote MPCT/Learning Curve Group values during all lessons.
- Use assessment to inform learners on how to improve their knowledge.
- Systematically check learning for effective understanding and provide clear, directed, timely support that yields noticeable improvement.
- Prepare demanding lessons that enable learners to realise their potential.
- Deliver lessons that cover both physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Ensure resources reflect and value the diversity of learners’ experience and provide a comprehensive understanding of people and communities beyond their immediate experience.
- Identify and support learners who are falling behind.
- Set challenging individual targets for all learners.
- Support the development of Maths and English with all learners.
- Track work experience via the FCA in England to confirm learners embrace the opportunities provided by MPCT/LCG partner employers.
- Deliver learner induction and interview all potential new recruits.
- Maintain the MPCT MIS to track all learner details and performance.
- Complete all progress reviews to support learners’ educational development.
- Deliver physical training using the MPCT bib system during all sessions at appropriate intensity.
- Deliver Military Training (MTD) following the military skills portfolios scheme of work in a cyclical manager.
- Listen to learners’ and parents’ views to improve teaching and learning.
- Attend regular training on teaching and learning provided by MPCT/LCG.

The centre manager is expected to commit unwaveringly to set high expectations for conduct and achievement from all staff and learners within the centre. Success is measured by six key performance indicators:

- Military Progressions: 40%
Qualifications (Essential)
- Experience working within one of the uniformed services (army, navy, air force) minimum 3 years.
- Military or civilian Physical Training qualification.
Qualifications (Desirable)
- GCSE Maths & English qualification.
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector.
- Teaching qualification or experience teaching or instructing.
- Experience working with young people.
