Role Overview
Learning Curve Group (LCG) is a growing company that recently acquired MPCT, bringing military academies to a total of 34 across England and Wales. As a Centre Manager at LCG you will lead your team to outstanding results, drive excellence in teaching and learning, and ensure sessions are interactive, engaging, and well‑planned.
Duties
- Leadership & Management
- Take the lead on all centre administration as per the Operational Excellence Framework (OEF) and manage the following returns: Weekly Checks / Returns – ICT, Registers, Bursary, Programme, Asset Returns, TAM, Staff Recruitment, Welfare, Facebook, MD Memo, Quality, FCA System.
- Teaching & Learning
- Ensure staff and self are up to date with subject knowledge and deliver challenging lessons.
- Maintain up‑to‑date industrial knowledge by attending Reserve Training Camps/Events, Look at Life, Familiarisation with Acquaint Days, and Assessment Centres annually.
- Promote MPCT/Learning Curve Group values during all lessons.
- Use assessment to inform learners and provide timely support to maximise improvement.
- Ensure lessons effectively check learning and offer directed support.
- Prepare demanding lessons that enable learners to realise their potential.
- Deliver lessons covering both physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Use resources that reflect and value learner diversity.
- Identify and support learners falling behind, setting challenging individual targets.
- Support development of Maths & English for all learners.
- Track work experience via the FCA in England.
- Deliver learner induction and interview new recruits.
- Maintain MPCT MIS Inspire with learner details and performance tracking.
- Complete progress reviews to support learner educational development.
- Deliver physical training using the MPCT bib system at appropriate intensity.
- Deliver Military Training (MTD) following the military skills portfolios scheme of work in a cyclical manager.
- Listen to learner and parent views to improve teaching and learning.
- Attend regular training on teaching and learning provided by MPCT / LCG.

- Provide learners, customers, and colleagues with support, advice, and guidance.

- Performance Expectations
- Meet 60 key performance indicators, with targets: Engagement 90%, Attendance 90%, Retention 90%, Qualifications 90%, Progressions 90%, Military Progressions 40%.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in a uniformed service (army, navy, air force).
- Military or civilian Physical Training qualification.
- GCSE Maths & English qualification (essential).
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector.
- Teaching qualification or experience of teaching/instructing.
- Experience working with young people.
