Job Purpose
To work within the online learning portals to assess learners’ work in line with qualification specifications and awarding body requirements to maximise opportunities for learners enrolled onto our Animal Faculty courses. You will support the faculty management and wider team to achieve the required targets and contribute to the academic and operational effectiveness of delivery. You will play a vital part of our learner journey and success by being responsive to learner queries to ensure their timely progress and achievement.
You will be assessing canine qualifications from L2 to L6. For example:
- Level 3 Diploma in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare (RQF)
- Level 3 Award in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare
- Level 4 Diploma in Canine Training and Behaviour Management
- Level 2 Award in Canine Care and Welfare
- Level 5 Diploma for the Canine Behaviour Practitioner
- Level 3 Award in Canine Care and Welfare
- Level 3 Diploma in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare
- Level 6 Diploma in Applied Canine Behaviour Management
- Canine Nutrition (RQF) Level 3 Diploma
We’re looking for an applicant with qualifications in the relevant subject specialism along with a recognised teaching or assessment qualification and experience in tutoring/assessing adult learners. In addition, we are seeking applicants who can also undertake IQA duties.
You will be responsible for organising and managing your own workload whilst maintaining the highest level of standards. This is a part-time position for 2 days (15 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Co-ordinate with other teaching staff, tutors, and assessors in your area to maintain a high quality of assessment leading to high student success rates.
- Undertake quality assurance of assessment and support consistent assessment decision across the team.
- Manage and track learner outcomes that are relevant to the faculty including success rates, pass rates and onward destination, ensuring your faculty achieves sector-leading outcomes.
- Organise external assessment requirements, based upon the requirements of individual awarding organisations and professional bodies.
- Ensure that all awarding organisation and professional body requirements in areas such as membership needs, delivery updates and assessment calendars are kept up to date.
- Manage the logistical requirements of assessment submissions, internal quality assurance, and moderation of learner portfolios, assessment papers, and examinations.
- Liaise with a range of internal professionals on a day-to-day basis, including the Assistant Director of Learning and Content Delivery, Faculty Director, Registration and Certification Team, and Quality Manager to ensure sharing of information and updates regarding the faculty and the professional bodies it works with.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with the most important stakeholders of all, our students, by teaching and managing teaching and learning processes for the full learner journey.
- Direct involvement in the teaching, learning, assessment, and quality assurance processes, ensuring they support both Awarding Organisation requirements and a ‘best in class’ learner experience.
- Provide support to learners by answering their queries, e.g. HubSpot tickets with 3 working days.
- Ensure that the faculty adheres to and maintains the standards of the Learndirect learner journey, taking every opportunity to digitise the experience so learners self-serve by design.
- Represent the Faculty at internal and External Quality Assurance meetings with awarding organisations, for example, Curriculum Area Moderator Reviews, Centre Review meetings and External Quality Assurance meetings.
- Ensure learning content is correct and up to date.
