We are looking for experienced and qualified Associate Tutors/Assessors and IQA’s to support the delivery of our courses in:
- Fashion Design
- Interior Design
These roles offer flexible working hours, depending on caseload and associate availability. We’re looking for applicants that hold a certificate in the relevant subject specialism, hold a recognised teaching or assessment qualification and have experience of tutoring adult learners. In addition, we are seeking applicants who can also undertake IQA duties too. We operate a completely flexible remote working model. Working on a self‑employed Contract for Services basis, the role involves tutoring students and assessing their work remotely via our online training portal. Rates of pay vary depending on the course and level.
You will work within the online learning platform(s) and assess learners in line with qualification specifications and awarding body requirements to maximise opportunities for learners. To support subject lead IQA and IQA’s to achieve the required targets and contribute to the academic and operational effectiveness of the college. You will play a vital part of our learner journey and success.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Marking of assessments and learner assignment submissions, within a timely manner.
- Provide support to learners by answering queries, e.g. HubSpot tickets.
- To maintain appropriate subject/expert knowledge in the subject areas for which Assessor responsibilities are agreed.
- Assist in tracking and reporting progress of learners as required.
- Actively uphold all of the organisation’s policies & procedures, including Safeguarding and Health and Safety, GDPR.
- Attend, and actively contribute, to standardisation meetings as requested by Head of Faculty.
- IQA ONLY – Upholding the organisations Internal Quality Assurance processes, working with Awarding Bodies.
- IQA ONLY – Provide support to individual assessors and relevant assessment team(s) in relation to course requirements, delivery methodology and assessment.
- IQA ONLY – Reporting on monthly IQA reports.
What we are looking for in you (Essential):
- Have worked within the fashion design industry for a minimum of 2 years and can provide a portfolio of work for review.
- Hold a recognised qualification at Level 4 or higher in Fashion Design (e.g. HND).
- Hold a relevant qualification at Level 3 or above in Interior Design or Fashion Design (where applicable to role requirements).
- Excellent level of written English and strong written communication skills.
- Must hold an assessing qualification such as CAVA Level 3, A1 (or equivalent), or be qualified in teaching/assessing.
- Must hold an IQA qualification such as V1, D34 (or equivalent) (IQA roles only).
- Have experience of quality assurance processes and, where applicable, managing QA processes for remote teams (IQA roles only).
- Extensive knowledge of relevant qualification specifications.
- Experience in teaching, assessing, or marking learner work.
- Experience with online education delivery (desirable).
- Strong computer and IT literacy, including Microsoft Office, email, and other commonly used platforms.
- Ability to work within digital/online learning environments.
- Natural problem solver, able to support and reassure learners effectively.
- Ability to research and provide supportive, accurate answers to learner questions.
- Ability to produce high-quality assessment decisions and constructive feedback (written and verbal).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
