Chess Coach / Assistant Chess Coach Flexible Part-Time Hours | School Term Time | Rochester, Tonbridge, Maidstone please explain your chess experience as a player, and if you have had the opportunity to coach or teach.

The role This is more than teaching children how the pieces move.

As a Chess Coach, you’ll observe games, recognise mistakes and opportunities, understand a student's thinking and help them develop better decision-making, tactics and overall game awareness.

We are looking for experienced Chess Coaches and Lead Coaches, but we also welcome applications from developing players interested in Assistant Coach/Coach Support positions.

The person For our coaching positions, you should: Have a strong practical understanding of chess, ideally around 1000+ ELO or equivalent playing ability Be able to analyse a game and recognise tactical and positional mistakes Understand why a move is strong or weak and explain this clearly to a young player Be confident working with children of different ages and chess abilities Create enjoyable, structured and engaging sessions Have a full UK driving licence and be able to travel to local schools and venues Hold a current First Aid qualification or be willing to complete training Still developing your chess knowledge?
