We are seeking a professional and patient individual to join our team as a Driving Instructor. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality driving tuition to students of various skill levels. You will guide them through the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) syllabus, ensuring they develop the skills and confidence necessary to pass their practical driving test and remain safe road users for life.

Responsibilities

  • Instructional Delivery: Plan and deliver structured driving lessons tailored to the individual needs and progress of each student.
  • Safety Management: Maintain full control of the vehicle’s safety using dual controls, providing a secure environment for learners.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Educate students on the Highway Code, road safety, hazard perception, and vehicle maintenance basics.
  • Test Preparation: Conduct mock driving tests and provide constructive feedback to ensure students are "test-ready."
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage a diary of appointments, maintain accurate records of student progress, and assist with booking practical tests.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a clean, roadworthy, and smoke-free instructional vehicle at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Licensing: Must have held a full UK/EU driving license for at least 3 years.
  • Registration: Must be a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) or a Potential Driving Instructor (PDI) in training.
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
  • Character: No more than 6 penalty points on your license and no previous disqualifications.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional patience, clear verbal communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Field-based (operating within a designated local radius).
  • Hours: Flexible, though evening and weekend availability is often required to meet student demand.
  • Autonomy: This role offers a high degree of independence in managing your daily schedule and teaching style.
