Guitar Tutor

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Guitar Tutor / Supervisor to provide both 1-to-1 and paired (1-to-2) guitar lessons at a primary school near Allithwaite, Cumbria. This role gives children the chance to build their musical skills, grow in confidence, and enjoy learning guitar in a friendly, supportive, and engaging environment.

Lessons will take place weekly (days and times to be confirmed).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and paired guitar lessons to primary-aged children.
• Plan and teach fun, age-appropriate sessions that develop musical understanding, rhythm, and technical ability.
• Encourage creativity, confidence, and a positive attitude toward learning music.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with parents and school staff regarding children\’s progress.
• Ensure teaching spaces and instruments are well-organised, safe, and prepared for each session.

Experience & Skills

• Experience teaching guitar to children in schools, clubs, or private tuition settings.
• Ability to engage and motivate young learners in a structured yet enjoyable way.
• Strong English communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff.
• A background in music education, teaching, or performance is highly desirable.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 3 per week
