Responsibilities:

  • Work under teacher supervision to plan, deliver, and evaluate learning activities for whole classes, groups, and individuals.
  • Deliver scheduled PPA provision to whole classes without a teacher present on an ongoing basis and on an ad‑hoc basis during planned absences of up to 3 days.
  • Manage other TAs, LSAs, and classroom volunteers to develop their working practices.
  • Design and structure learning activities to engage pupils and advance their learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate learner progress using assessment techniques and provide focused support and feedback.
  • Support pupils to improve numeracy and literacy skills, and across the curriculum.
  • Communicate with parents and carers about pupil care and education as directed by the school.

Qualifications:

  • HLTA status (or QTS).
  • Level 2 qualifications in maths/numeracy and English/literacy.
  • Experience supporting planning, evaluation and delivery of learning activities in a formal setting.
  • Awareness of frameworks that support education, development and well‑being of children.
  • Able to manage pupil behaviour in accordance with school/college policy.
  • Knowledge of child protection, health and safety procedures and their application in a school setting.

Employment Details:

  • Part‑time, permanent Grade 8 – 20.66 hours per week (20 hours 40 minutes), 39 weeks (38 term time + 1 holiday week).
  • Salary: £13,666 (Annual Actual).
  • Working pattern: 8:20am – 3:30pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
