Location: Learn2 Cornwall, Hayle

Overview: We are looking for a skilled administrator who is motivated, organised, an excellent communicator with a great sense of humour. This role is to assist the management team with administrative tasks in order to keep up to date. We are adding to our team to ensure all admin is covered for the business; therefore, elements of this role can be developed by this newest member of the team. It is more than just filing and typing; this is a varied role with lots of development opportunities. An eye for detail is essential as are excellent IT skills.

  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with colleagues, students and parents both in writing and verbally.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, as you will be responsible for managing crucial administrative tasks.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office including Word, spreadsheets and email.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems independently and work effectively with colleagues to find solutions.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide support to the wider team.
  • Proactive approaches to identify and address potential issues before they arise, to ensure smooth operation of the organisation.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the Managing Director and management team including collecting staff reports, taking minutes and handling follow-up actions.
  • Organising whole team gatherings, meetings or other social events.
  • Organising Your Choice 2Day events with local schools and colleges.
  • Responsibility for conducting fire safety checks and ensuring that fire safety equipment is maintained and up to date.
  • Ensuring that the offices and communal areas are kept clean, tidy and free of hazards.
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the management team.
  • Providing support to staff with various activities including document preparation and any other administrative tasks.
  • Conducting quarterly staff wellbeing surveys and reporting on the results.
  • Monitoring the organisation's diversity and inclusion initiatives and reporting on progress.
  • Monitoring the organisation's environmental and sustainability responsibilities and reporting on them.
  • Managing the annual diary and ensuring that senior staff are reminded of important deadlines and events.
  • Ensuring that the staff vehicles are legally compliant and maintained.
  • Completing, updating and monitoring risk assessments (training can be provided).
  • Monitoring and updating policies and procedures.
  • Capturing, tracking and reporting on our work, including writing case studies.
  • Transport liaison.
  • Organising EHCP review arrangements.
  • Promoting an inclusive environment across the programme.
  • Attending team meetings as required.
  • Participating in appraisal and professional development as appropriate.
  • Understanding and applying Learn2 Cornwall policies.
  • Any other duties that the Managing Director may, from time to time, ask the post holder to perform.
  • Maintaining confidentiality inside and outside the workplace.
  • Driving is essential as is business insurance.
  • Completing and maintaining a professional CPD log in order to improve your skills, including those outside of mandatory requirements.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 18 per week
