Position Overview

We are hiring a Systems Development Engineer, responsible for supporting the Systems Development Manager/Supervisor to develop and maintain our Part Management Application (PMA) and Excel-based solutions to meet business requirements for end-to-end change management reporting and workflow.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the PMA by:
  • Business Analysis - Interacting with systems team management & other stakeholders to review, assess, analyse development ideas to agree way forward / solutions specification and agree timelines.
  • Develop PMA solutions to satisfy complex business issues.
  • Adapt PMA solutions to accommodate new processes or changes to existing processes.
  • Adapt PMAs interaction with connected systems to accommodate changes or upgrades.
  • Debug and resolve issues with existing PMA solutions.
  • Review/cleanse existing solutions removing redundant code and looking for ways to optimise wherever possible.
  • Follow agreed coding conventions, backup strategies and source control processes.
  • Develop and enhance complex Excel-based worksheets that interface to the PMA and are driven by complex VBA macros.
  • Implement change control processes to ensure smooth and controlled change management.
