Position Overview
The Innovation Project Engineer will drive activities within Lear’s regional Innovation Hub under the umbrella of the EU & Africa Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering team. The role works closely with manufacturing, logistics, quality and IT subject‑matter experts to deliver applied technologies and Industry 4.0 initiatives that improve efficiency, quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution and delivery of Innovation projects across the EMEA region, ensuring timelines, budgets and technical requirements are met.
- Manage project resources – personnel, equipment and budget – to maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (operations, IT, production) to transition products from development to implementation.
- Align Innovation initiatives with operational needs and strategic goals.
- Run proofs of concept, create prototypes and optimise products before scaling across the business.
- Identify, assess and evaluate emerging technologies (AI, robotics, IoT, AR/VR) for potential deployment.
- Ensure solutions comply with company and industry standards, regulations and security protocols.
- Communicate progress, challenges and outcomes to senior management and provide regular updates and recommendations.
- Build and manage relationships with external partners (universities, suppliers) to foster collaboration.

- Fluency in English, written and verbal.
- Higher education – Master’s in engineering/technical field preferred; Bachelor’s with relevant experience acceptable.
