Leapwise is a mission‑driven policing, justice and public safety consultancy that helps leaders make their toughest choices. We work with UK police forces, local and national government departments and charities to deliver strategy consulting, leadership and organisational development that improves public sector performance.
Founded by an ex‑BCG consultant and prime ministerial adviser, we are passionate about public services and are currently expanding our impact. We want someone who wants to make a difference to UK public services, working on and sometimes managing consulting engagements while supporting the development and impact of the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver advisory services to clients in policing, local government and justice.
- Use frameworks to explore client challenges, structure data and produce clear, well‑reasoned deliverables that highlight key implications of your analysis.
- Design and conduct interviews, surveys, focus groups and workshops.
- Collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, produce reports and present insights to clients.
- Help ensure project activities stay on track by managing expectations, communicating proactively and escalating risks or blockers early.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and flag opportunities to improve how we work.
- Support business development activities, including case‑study development, marketing and proposal writing.
- Contribute to internal workstreams such as tools, templates and knowledge repositories.
- Help measure project outcomes, identify improvement areas and suggest ideas for future product development.
- Own your development goals, seek regular feedback and support peers through onboarding, resource sharing and modeling inclusive, curious behaviours.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong academic track record.
- Passion for social impact and public sector work.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication skills – our clients are all senior leaders.
- Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
- Expertise in survey and interview design.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience as a researcher, analyst, consultant or within public‑sector organisations (permanent or freelance).
- Strategic orientation and mindset.
- Expertise in a specialist functional domain within consulting (e.g., user‑centred service design, strategy, organisational development, transformation/change).
- Focus on generating and measuring results, learning from success and setbacks.
- Interest in organisational decision‑making and public policy/effectiveness.
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Criminology, Behavioural Science, Organisational Psychology, Economics or related discipline.
- Continuous residence in the UK for the past three years (due to security requirements).

- Total package c£38,000–£41,500 + up to £2,500 sign‑on bonus.
