Working within a Commercial underwriting environment, this role offers the opportunity to manage SME risks while contributing directly to business performance and client retention!
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Managing and underwriting SME insurance cases in line with agreed processes and risk appetite.
- Working closely with brokers to identify, discuss and convert new and existing business opportunities.
- Making effective underwriting decisions to support business development and retention targets.
- Maintaining and developing an underwriting and client portfolio.
- Applying underwriting, relationship management and business development techniques to retain and grow accounts.
- Supporting the performance and success of the wider Commercial team.
- Monitoring performance against key performance indicators and contributing to reporting where required.
- Providing a high standard of service delivery to brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting colleagues across the wider team as needed to achieve shared objectives.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have underwriting or wider insurance industry experience, with a strong understanding of working within defined risk appetite and underwriting authority. Experience dealing with insurance brokers across a range of insurance products would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organised and comfortable working to deadlines using their own initiative. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service are essential. Holding, or working towards, relevant CII qualifications would be beneficial.
