A well-established financial services organisation are seeking a Senior Accountant. This position is central to the delivery of accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency, while also offering scope to contribute to process improvements and team development.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing statutory financial statements in line with IFRS.
  • Managing general ledger accounts and overseeing month-end and year-end processes.
  • Submitting regulatory reports to the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC).
  • Coordinating with auditors and managing external audit processes.
  • Overseeing tax returns and ensuring compliance with local tax requirements.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Identifying process improvements and implementing technology-driven solutions.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior finance staff.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Guernsey and London on finance and systems projects.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years' financial services experience. They will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and a solid understanding of financial regulations in Guernsey. They should be highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with a professional manner and a collaborative approach to teamwork. A proactive attitude, flexibility, and interest in process improvement will also be key.
