From welcoming visitors and supporting adoptions to coordinating administrative tasks, you'll play an important role in delivering outstanding service to both people and animals.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to

  • Welcome visitors and provide a professional, friendly and compassionate reception service.
  • Respond to telephone and email enquiries, directing requests to the appropriate team where necessary.
  • Coordinate appointments relating to animal admissions, boarding, adoptions, cremations and home visits.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to animal admissions, adoptions, rehoming and welfare cases.
  • Liaise with members of the public, veterinary practices, staff, volunteers and external organisations.
  • Support the administration of animal welfare, boarding and adoption processes.
  • Assist with shop administration, including stock control, pricing, merchandising and reconciliation of takings.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and ensure all administrative documentation is completed to a high standard.
  • Assist with general administrative duties and develop knowledge of internal IT systems.
  • Ensure reception and public areas remain clean, organised and welcoming at all times.
  • Support fundraising activities, community events and educational visits when required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures and organisational standards.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a reception, administration or customer service role and be passionate about delivering exceptional service.

You'll be highly organised, confident managing multiple priorities and able to communicate professionally with a wide range of people.

Strong administrative, IT and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a compassionate and empathetic approach.

Experience working with animals or within an animal welfare environment would be advantageous, while a willingness to support a varied workload and work flexible hours when required will be key to success in the role.
