Working within a growing organisation, this Learning & Development Manager role focuses on aligning learning strategy with business priorities and long-term capability needs. The position offers both autonomy and visibility, with responsibility for driving meaningful learning outcomes.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and delivering a clear learning and development strategy aligned to business objectives and people priorities.
  • Identifying organisational skills gaps and development needs through data, engagement insights and stakeholder input.
  • Designing learning frameworks that support career progression, leadership development and role readiness.
  • Ensuring learning activity aligns with organisational values and promotes a consistent colleague experience.
  • Designing and overseeing leadership, management, professional and technical learning programmes.
  • Ensuring learning solutions are practical, scalable and suitable for multi-jurisdiction environments where applicable.
  • Overseeing mandatory and compliance-related learning to meet regulatory expectations.
  • Evaluating learning effectiveness and measuring impact and outcomes.
  • Owning the learning management system and wider learning infrastructure.
  • Setting governance, standards and structure for learning content, pathways and reporting.
  • Using learning data and insight to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Partnering with senior leaders and managers to shape learning solutions and embed development into day-to-day practice.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor on learning, capability and development matters.
  • Managing external training providers and consultants where required.
  • Providing direction, coaching and oversight to the Learning & Development Coordinator.
  • Monitoring learning trends and best practice to ensure the learning offer remains relevant and effective.
  • Producing learning reports and updates for senior leadership as required.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a Learning & Development Manager or senior L&D role, with a strong track record of designing and delivering effective learning strategies and programmes. They will be confident operating at both strategic and operational level, with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills. Experience implementing and owning a learning management system is essential, alongside the ability to translate business needs into practical learning solutions. Excellent communication, organisational skills and a values-led, people-focused approach are key to success in this role.
