Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Working as part of a busy front‑office lending and underwriting team.
- Meeting with clients, responding to enquiries and reviewing mortgage and loan applications within agreed service level agreements.
- Providing a high standard of client service via email, telephone and face‑to‑face interactions.
- Acting as an internal and external credit adviser, assessing client structures and proposing client‑focused lending solutions.
- Reviewing and renewing existing loan facilities.
- Preparing and presenting cases to credit committees.
- Assisting senior Lending Officers with the approval and completion of lending facilities.
- Working closely with Credit Risk and Credit Operations teams to ensure lending remains within defined risk appetite.
- Supporting the embedding of strong risk culture across product design, case submissions and portfolio reviews.
- Making recommendations for continuous improvement within lending processes.
- Contributing to lending targets and wider team objectives.
The ideal candidate will be keen to build a career within banking or lending and will demonstrate strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to work accurately and reliably in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent communication skills are essential, alongside a cooperative, professional attitude and confidence engaging with clients. Holding, or being willing to undertake, a relevant qualification such as CEMAP is required, with full training and support provided.
