Our client is looking for a Fibre Installation Assistance Engineer on a fixed-term contract through to 31 December 2026, supporting installation teams with a wide range of field-based fibre activities. This is a full-time role (37.5hrs pw) that offers excellent training and varied field exposure.
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Setting up and removing roadworks signage and guarding.
- Providing traffic management during installations.
- Rodding ducts and pulling cables into properties.
- Climbing poles and carrying out overhead cable installations.
- Securing roof and long ladders safely.
- Running and securing fibre cables externally.
- Drilling entry/exit holes for cabling.
- Adhering to Health & Safety, regulatory and data protection obligations.
- Completing security awareness training and following incident reporting procedures.
- Working in all weather conditions as required.
The ideal candidate will be physically fit, comfortable working at heights, and able to follow safe working practices. A Category B driving licence is essential. Strong communication skills, good organisation and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are key. Experience with cabling, telecoms or customer service is desirable but not essential.
