This senior-level position offers the chance to lead HR and payroll administration for crew members employed across a fleet of managed yachts. Based in Guernsey, this hands-on role supports the delivery of compliant, efficient employment and payroll services, while also guiding a small support team and acting as a point of contact for Captains, Owners and external authorities.
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Processing monthly payrolls for yacht crew, ensuring data accuracy and timely payments.
- Monitoring receipt of funds and supporting invoicing to yacht owners.
- Overseeing crew employment documentation and related compliance.
- Using internal systems to manage payment schedules, reconciliations, and validation tools.
- Acting as a second-line contact for employment and payroll queries.
- Liaising with authorities such as Flag Administrations, Social Security bodies, and unions.
- Supporting regulatory compliance, recordkeeping, and GDPR reporting.
- Managing junior HR & payroll admin staff, including training, delegation, and resilience planning.
- Contributing to business continuity and service performance improvements.
Skills / Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have strong payroll and HR administration experience, preferably within marine services or an international employment setting. They will be confident managing systems and deadlines, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong problem-solving, tact, and diplomacy are key, alongside fluency in English and eligibility to work in Guernsey (or a hybrid Guernsey/remote arrangement).
