A senior-level opportunity for an experienced professional to play a leading role in the prudential and conduct supervision of banking and insurance firms.

Working at the forefront of risk-based supervision, this role is central to safeguarding the integrity and reputation of the Bailiwick's financial services sector!

Responsibilities

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to

  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day prudential and conduct supervision of a portfolio of banks and/or insurance entities.
  • Leading risk-based supervision under PRISM, including assessing regulatory risks and identifying emerging issues.
  • Analysing licensees' financial statements, regulatory returns and other information impacting licensing criteria.
  • Planning, leading and attending on-site supervisory visits and meetings with regulated firms.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with licensees, boards, senior management and advisers.
  • Preparing and presenting supervisory findings, recommendations and risk assessments to internal governance panels.
  • Owning client-facing risk and issue management, including escalation where required.
  • Contributing to thematic reviews, sector-wide analysis and policy development.
  • Supporting the development, mentoring and oversight of Analysts and junior team members.
  • Producing high-quality written work that forms part of the regulator's formal record.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory laws, codes and supervisory guidance.
  • Representing the division in meetings, working groups and external engagements as required.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong experience gained within banking, insurance, auditing, actuarial, compliance or a related financial services environment, with the ability to apply regulatory judgement confidently and proportionately.

They will be inquisitive, commercially aware and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, including boards and executive management.

Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to interpret complex information, manage competing priorities and contribute to maintaining confidence in the financial services sector through effective supervision.
