Leap29 are partnered with a leading renewable energy IPP who specialise in the development and delivery of renewable energy assets (wind, solar, energy storage), with a significant project pipeline and coverage across several markets in Europe.

Location: London or Oxford, UK

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Manager to lead and manage a portfolio of renewable energy development projects (including solar, wind, battery storage, and hybrid solutions), from origination through to Ready-to-Build. This role will play a critical part in expanding our client’s project pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on all aspects of project development from site origination through to RtB status, including planning, permitting, grid connection, and community engagement.
  • Identify and evaluate new project opportunities, including land acquisition, grid interconnection capacity, and market feasibility.
  • Manage relationships with landowners, permitting agencies, utilities, local governments, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance, environmental, and construction) to de-risk and optimize project development.
  • Track project timelines, budgets, and milestones using project management tools.
  • Prepare and present project development plans, investment memos, and status reports to senior leadership and investors.
  • Keep abreast of renewable energy policy and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Higher education, preferably Master’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience related to the feasibility and development of large-scale renewables projects.
  • Deep understanding of planning application process, interconnection, land use, and environmental assessments.
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • MS Office package, MS Project, Omega 365 or similar.
