Team Leader – Relief Bakery Department
Location: Dronfield, S18
Pay Rates: Days: £15.82 per hour; Nights: £17.37 per hour.
About The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Relief Team Leader to join our main Bakery. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to lead a production team in delivering high-quality products while maintaining strong standards of food safety, health and safety, and operational efficiency.
As a Relief Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing your team and production area to meet daily targets, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring consistent adherence to site standards and procedures.
Shift Patterns
Front End Day Shift and Nights
- Week 1: Sunday to Wednesday 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am
- Week 2: Sunday to Tuesday 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am
Back End Day Shift
- Week 1: Thursday to Saturday 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am
- Week 2: Wednesday to Saturday 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am
Start Date: WC 06.10.2025
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate your team to deliver the daily production plan safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily health and safety checks and promote a positive safety culture.
- Achieve or exceed area performance results through effective planning, organisation, and communication.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and housekeeping at all times.
- Ensure all team members are trained, supported, and developed to reach their potential.
- Take full ownership of the daily and hourly review processes, including SIC and data accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with other departments and Shift Managers to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage change initiatives and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure accurate use and maintenance of SAP systems.
- Support other areas of the department when required.
Skills And Experience
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or bakery production environment is essential.
- Proven experience leading a team within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene standards.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead by example, motivate teams, and manage performance effectively.
- Experience using SAP or similar manufacturing systems is desirable.
