Leafield Ladies Football Club is one of the Midlands’ pioneering clubs dedicated to female players and the growth of women’s football. The club offers coaching and competitive playing opportunities for girls and women from the age of five and above. Applicants will be joining a values-driven environment that prioritises inclusivity, player development, and community engagement.
The Assistant Head Coach for the first team will support the Head Coach in planning and delivering high-quality training sessions for players of varying ages and abilities, ensuring alignment with the club’s playing philosophy and development objectives. The team currently competes at tier 4 of the women’s national league. This is a part-time role, requiring regular presence at training sessions, matches, and club events.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Assisting with session design
- Leading warm-ups and drills
- Providing individual feedback to players
- Helping to monitor player progression throughout the season
- Supporting matchday preparation, including team selection discussions, tactical planning and in-game coaching
- Liaising with parents and caregivers
- Maintaining accurate records
- Supporting talent identification
- Contributing to a positive, safe and inclusive club culture
Qualifications:
- Coaching knowledge and experience in football, including planning and delivering structured training sessions and supporting player development across different age groups
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with players, parents, volunteers and club staff
- Organisational and time-management skills to coordinate training, match schedules and administrative tasks in a full-time, on-site environment
- Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding, player welfare and inclusive coaching practices that respect diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Recognised football coaching qualifications (e.g. FA coaching badges or equivalent) or a clear pathway and willingness to obtain these certifications
- Experience working in women’s or girls’ football, or a strong interest in supporting the continued growth of the women’s game
