This stunning four-star hotel is centrally located within Hull, on Ferensway, minutes from the train station and St Stephens Shopping Centre. The hotel is opposite the Hull Truck Theatre and is a short stroll to the bustling downtown and marina area. This contemporary-style hotel offers a stylish stay for corporate guests and also accommodates leisure guests and family stays with its spacious and relaxing environment. What we are looking for: We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Lead to join our team. In this full-time role, you will support the Property Manager in overseeing the property, assets, team, and overall hotel maintenance, ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for both our team members and guests.
A day in the life: This role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance, drawing on a broad knowledge of general maintenance procedures. You will have full oversight of all general maintenance tasks across the hotel, ensuring each activity is carried out to the highest standards. You will support the Property Manager with managing the team’s performance, compliance, and task completion, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. You will regularly use key software such as Compliance Centre to log, track, and prioritise the department's tasks and workload.
Example key responsibilities:
- Take a hands-on approach to general department tasks, demonstrating excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Perform proactive and reactive maintenance in line with the strategic activity calendar.
- Ensure the general upkeep of the hotel, including mechanical equipment in the plant room and kitchen assets.
- Monitor and manage water hygiene and related activities.
- Support fire life safety procedures, including alarm testing and maintaining records.
- Resolve emergency issues (e.g., mechanical breakdowns, power outages) and follow crisis manual protocols.
- Use and maintain the hotel’s online Compliance tool (Compliance Centre) and the maintenance reporting system (Quore).
- Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, supporting with internal and external audits.
- Manage contractor visits, ensuring projects align with H&S standards.
- Review daily asset checks, including bedroom inspections, and deliver training to the hotel team on related topics.
- Review and maintenance for kitchen asset equipment and hotels structure services & FF&E.
