As Maintenance Manager, you will lead the hotel’s maintenance function, taking full ownership of all maintenance activity across the property. You’ll ensure work is delivered to a high standard, balancing hands-on tasks with team leadership and compliance oversight. You’ll lead a small team, driving performance while supporting their development, and work closely with the General Manager and wider leadership team. This is a role for someone who is confident working independently, managing priorities and making decisions in a fast-paced environment. Alongside day-to-day operations, you’ll play a key role in compliance, audits and asset management, ensuring the hotel is safe, well-maintained and operating at its best.

Key responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, develop and manage the maintenance team through recruitment, 1:1s, appraisals and performance management. Deliver training and coaching, identifying development needs. Manage rotas and absence in line with business needs. Use HR systems (Harri) effectively.
  • Maintenance & Operations: Oversee all planned and reactive maintenance across the hotel. Take a hands-on approach to maintenance tasks when required. Maintain plant room equipment and general property upkeep. Oversee maintenance of kitchen equipment, building services and FF&E.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards. Act as Fire Marshal, leading fire safety procedures and record keeping. Manage water hygiene processes and monitoring. Respond effectively to emergency and maintenance issues.
  • Systems, Audits & Asset Management: Manage systems including Compliance Centre and Quore. Lead internal and external audits. Act as key contact for contractors, ensuring H&S compliance. Conduct inspections and track completion of actions. Lead monthly asset reviews with senior stakeholders.
