This stylish hotel is off the M65, ideally located on the border of Hyndburn and Blackburn within the Frontier Retail Park. Local attractions such as the Blackburn historic cathedral, museum & art gallery, King George's Hall, and Empire Theatre are only a 10‑minute drive away. Our team welcomes you with a bright smile and is multi‑skilled to support you on both the reception desk as well as in our lounge, bar and during breakfast. There is a spacious lounge area where guests can enjoy a relaxing drink and some food, or they may choose to take advantage of the onsite gym. Day in the life of: You will be working within the kitchen to support our breakfast service. Our guests value and look forward to starting their day with a smile from our breakfast assistants and eating the delicious food you will prepare as a breakfast chef. You will prepare continental breakfast‑style food as well as hot English breakfast items for the breakfast buffet. You will continuously monitor the buffet and top‑up items as needed throughout the breakfast service times. In addition, you will cook and prepare items to order off the breakfast menu.
Example key duties:
- Maintaining the brand and internal standards in regard to the food items on the breakfast buffet.
- Keeping yourself updated with any changes to standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the front‑of‑house breakfast team.
- Prep work pre‑shift and after the shift to ensure a smooth breakfast service.
- Cooking hot items and preparing cold items for the breakfast.
- Setting up breakfast buffet stations and replenishing items during the shift.
- Clearing away breakfast items and cleaning down the kitchen.
- Maintaining high levels of food safety, organisation, hygiene and cleanliness throughout the shift.
- Stock control measures.
- Preparation of staff meals.
