We are seeking a dedicated, energetic, and reliable support worker to support a 22-year-old autistic young person in a private residential setting in Horsham. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to become part of a small, consistent team and make a meaningful, long‑term difference in someone’s life. You will be supporting a non‑verbal autistic young person who thrives with structure, consistency, and meaningful engagement. This role requires someone who is active, patient, and able to bring energy and positivity into each day, while supporting independence and overall wellbeing.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on, active role where no two days are the same. You will support across daily routines, education, and community engagement, helping to create a fulfilling and structured lifestyle. The role includes:
- Encouraging independence and development of self‑help skills
- Supporting with personal care and daily living tasks
- Facilitating community access, including outings and activities
- Planning and engaging in fun, appropriate, and meaningful activities
This is an opportunity to build a genuine connection and support a young person to experience life fully and positively. This role is offered on a zero‑hour contract, with shifts allocated based on the needs of the individual and service. Based on package needs — currently including night shifts and waking nights. You will be part of a small, consistent team, and while hours are not guaranteed, we aim to provide regular and consistent shifts where possible to support both the individual and team continuity.
Key Requirements (Essential)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting individuals with autism
- Must be able to reliably commute to Horsham
- Full UK driving licence required
- Previous UK work experience required
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
