Project: Professional Building Consultancy Services for the Proposed Youth Centre at Ping Yuen Road, Ta Kwu Ling, New Territories

Duties and Responsibilities 職責和責任:

  • Responsible to the Consultant for supervision of the above project and carry out duties of a Clerk of Works under the direction of the Consultant;
  • Monitor the standard of workmanship against the contract documents and good building practice in Hong Kong conforming to the relevant Specifications or Code of Practice as specified by the Consultant;
  • Check samples and related documents against contract requirements and make observations and recommendations to the Consultant;
  • Check contractor’s setting out of all elements;
  • Monitor the progress of work on site against the approved programme;
  • Carry out routine inspections of the building works, building services installation and confirm the works are being carried out in compliance with the drawings, specification and contract requirements, and report to the Consultant all Substandard work;
  • Attend all site inspections performed by Client, Consultant and government departments;
  • Liaise with the Consultant on all site matters;
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with government departments and utilities companies for the work on site;
  • Maintain a site record of the daily activities on site and submit weekly report to relevant Consultant;
  • Monitor environmental, health and safety aspects of the contractor’s work. Notify all non-compliance of safety procedures immediately to the contractor’s representative for rectification and record this in the site record book;
  • Submit progress, technical, accident and special reports to the Consultant as required;
  • Attend client and contractors progress meetings;
  • Witness on-site and off-site tests as required by the contract, review all test records submitted by the Consultant and record the results in the site record book;
  • Carry out inspection of defects and outstanding work upon the completion of the contract;
  • Carry out such other duties as directed by the Consultant;

Qualifications 資格 :

  • Higher Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong College of Technology/ Hong Kong Institute of Technolgy / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent / Engineering qualifications with 5 years relevant experience; OR
  • Degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong College of Technology/ Hong Kong Institute of Technolgy / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent / Engineering qualifications with 2 years relevant experience;
  • Eight years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
  • Obtain Technically Competent Persons (TCP) T3 – Authorized Person’s Stream;
  • Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2* or above in English Language and Chinese Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) /Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent. [Note * Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.];
  • Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Clerk of Works (HKICW).

Work location: Ping Yuen Road, Ta Kwu Ling, New Territories
