Support Worker – Supported Independence Ipswich, Suffolk

£10.90 per hour Permanent, part-time or full-time, 16-37 hours per week

Available for those who have been out of the care sector for over 2 years or are coming to care straight from education (e.g., college, sixth form, apprenticeship). This is only available for those working in our Support to Live at Home, Supported Independence, or Short Break Services. For other services, we are offering a £250 bonus from our reserves.

Leading Lives provides social care support for people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs in the home and in the community across Suffolk and neighbouring counties. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise, owned by our employees. Any surplus is reinvested into services for our customers or into the local community.

We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker within our Independence Plus service in Ipswich and South East Suffolk. Independence Plus is a varied service providing domiciliary and community-based support to individuals aged 13 and upwards. Our customers have diagnoses including Learning Disabilities, Mental health conditions, and physical disabilities. Support can include helping within the home, accessing leisure activities (e.g., cinema, bowling, swimming), accessing health services, community inclusion, and more. This is an exciting role where no two days are the same, offering opportunities to build positive relationships and deliver person-centered, holistic care.

Due to the nature of this service, a full driving license and the ability to work alternate weekends with occasional evenings are essential. Shift times can vary from 8 am to 10 pm depending on customer needs.
