Leading Edge Labels is a well-established and growing print and packaging company based in Gravesend, Kent. We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our production team as a Folder Gluer Operator or trainee folder gluer operator with previous experience in Finishing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone either looking to start a long-term career within the packaging industry or bring experience into a well-established company. Previous experience in Finishing is required but specific training will be given with the potential to develop broader skills in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
  • Run and assist in the Folder Gluer area.
  • Ensure the highest quality is always maintained.
  • Aim to keep up with workload schedule.
  • Support and follow all line clearance and set up procedures.

About the Role

This position involves operating the machine, packing finished goods at the end of line, maintaining the machinery and surrounding area and above all maintaining quality standards. There are some manual requirements for setting the machine and setting out the area and also stacking the finished goods onto pallets so applicants should be physically fit and comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment. Training will be provided where necessary, making this role ideal for someone with previous experience or for someone with just a few years experience looking to develop new skills and build a career within a production environment.

Hours of Work

40 hours per week basic contract. Usual shift 6am-2pm Mon-Fri. Extension or change to shift at times to work through to 6pm dependent upon workload. Depending on workload, shifts may range from 8 to 12 hours.

Salary & Benefits

£32k per annum. Plus overtime if available. Overtime paid at time and a half after 50 hours per week. 5% monthly bonus following successful completion of a 3-month probation period. Full training and career development opportunities.
