We are looking for an experienced Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI) to join our Ground School, supporting our goal of igniting minds and fuelling futures. As a TKI, you'll blend your deep aviation knowledge with innovative teaching to create engaging, impactful learning experiences. You'll lead by example, fostering a supportive environment where high‑calibre students—handpicked through our rigorous selection process—thrive and exceed their potential. This is a full‑time role working 40 hours per week based at our Oxford Campus. If you would like to discuss alternative working arrangements, please get in touch.

Role Duties

  • Ground School Excellence: Fuel your genuine passion for aviation by delivering captivating theoretical knowledge sessions across key EASA/CAA ATPL(A) subjects—like aircraft performance, human factors, and navigation—that align with your expertise. Craft and refine high‑quality course materials that stay ahead of the curve, incorporating fresh insights and cutting‑edge teaching methods to keep students hooked and learning effectively. Track student progress with personalized feedback, celebrate milestones, and guide them toward mastering ATPL(A) exam standards, while stepping in as a course mentor to inspire and support on a rotational basis. Serve as a subject matter expert in your specialty, collaborating to evolve course content and ensure every lesson delivers consistency and wow‑factor engagement. Lead assessments, exams, and remedial sessions with fairness and insight, acting as an assessor and moderator to help students unlock their potential.
  • Flight Safety Advocacy: Be a champion for our unwavering commitment to flight safety—work hand‑in‑hand with colleagues across the academy to weave safety principles into every lesson, fostering a proactive mindset among students. Spark enthusiasm for safety participation, turning it into an exciting part of the journey rather than just a checkbox.
  • Team and Admin Contributions: Keep the pulse on student journeys by monitoring progress, sharing triumphs, and addressing challenges early to ensure everyone stays on track. Maintain seamless records and dive into the broader academy vibe—join open days, events, and collaborative meetings that make our community thrive. Embrace ongoing growth through instructor development sessions, standardisation workshops, and in‑service training, all while embodying our core values of integrity, innovation, and teamwork in everything you do. Play a part in wider company life, such as attending open days and events when requested. Attend all administrative, standardisation and instructor development meetings and in‑service training as programmed. Demonstrate and uphold the company’s core values in all actions, decisions, and interactions.
