Job Summary and key responsibilities: Join our successful Land and New Homes division as a Residential Development Consultant. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in advising our developer clients, helping shape new residential schemes, and contributing to the growth of our business. You'll gain invaluable, hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle, from site identification and appraisal through to market analysis and sales strategy. Crucially, LRG is committed to your professional development and will provide structured support, and the diverse experience required to help you achieve RICS accreditation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis & Reporting: Conduct in-depth market research on local new homes developments. Produce detailed, insightful reports to guide development strategies, pricing, and specifications, ultimately helping to secure new business.
- Development Consultancy: Advise key developer clients on optimising their proposals, including recommendations on property type, size mix, specification levels, and potential sales values, based on robust market evidence.
- Site Assessment: Visit and inspect potential new development sites, contributing to initial appraisals alongside valuation colleagues.
- Land Sourcing: Assist the Business Development Manager with identifying consented sites, sourcing contact details and writing initial engagement letters.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with new and existing developer clients, understanding their requirements and proactively identifying opportunities to introduce LRG's services.
- Market Intelligence: Regularly visit LRG and competitor new home sites to maintain a comprehensive understanding of current market trends, product offerings, and competitor activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely and effectively with colleagues across LRG, including land acquisition, planning, valuation, corporate lettings and new homes sales teams.
What are we looking for:
Essential:
- Proven interest or experience in the residential property sector, ideally with exposure to development or land.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce clear, concise reports.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, confident in dealing with clients.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and commercially aware.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
Desirable:
- A degree in Real Estate, Property Development, Planning, or a related field.
- Actively working towards or keen to pursue RICS accreditation.
- Experience in a consultancy or client-facing role.
