Team Manager – Children’s Services

A rare opportunity has opened up for a Team Manager within Children’s Services at Gloucestershire County Council — ideal for an experienced ATM or Advanced Practitioner ready to take the next step in their career. The team is made up of yourself (the Team Manager), Advanced Practitioner, four Social Workers and an ASYE, ensuring a close knit, stable environment.

The Package / Benefits:

  • Salary up to £54,495
  • £5,000 welcome payment + £3,000 annual retention payment
  • 25.5 days annual leave (rising to 30.5 after 5 years)
  • Flexible/agile working opportunities
  • Good / Outstanding Ofsted (inspection done in the last couple of months)

As Team Manager, you\’ll lead and support a team of Social Workers to deliver high-quality services. You\’ll ensure statutory duties and best practices are met, provide case oversight with a clear understanding of risk, and align team plans with strategic objectives.

The role involves managing workflow, overseeing quality through supervision, observation, and audits, and contributing to the development of the quality assurance framework. Strong relationships with internal teams and partner agencies will be key to ensuring effective support and protection for vulnerable children and young people across the county.

This position offers long-term prospects in a stable, values-led authority located in one of England’s most scenic counties.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
