As a Safeguarding / Assessment Social Worker, you'll manage cases from referral through to closure or transfer, working across child protection, safeguarding and care proceedings. This role may also appeal to experienced Children's Social Workers or Child Protection Social Workers. You'll join a pilot team where your experience is valued, with the opportunity to support colleagues, contribute to service development and play a key role in the Family Help transformation programme. Hybrid working offers flexibility while maintaining strong collaboration with the wider team and partner agencies. About the Company You'll be joining a forward-thinking children's service delivering a new Family Help model. The team is committed to collaborative working, high-quality safeguarding practice and achieving positive outcomes for children and families through a supportive and innovative approach. Key Responsibilities • Manage cases from referral, completing Family Help Assessments, care planning and intervention through to closure or transfer to Children in Care services. • Lead child protection work, including strategy discussions, Section 47 enquiries, PLO work and initial care proceedings where required. • Support and share knowledge with Alternatively Qualified Practitioners within the pilot team. • Work closely with partner agencies to deliver effective safeguarding and Family Help interventions. About You • Experience working within a safeguarding or assessment team. • Proven experience of child protection, strategy discussions, Section 47 investigations and care proceedings. • Experience supporting or mentoring colleagues within a children's social work setting.
